Semiannual/Annual Reports, Atomic Energy Commission (Y 3.At 7:1/)
The Atomic Energy Commission was created as an independent agency in 1946 to oversee the development and production of atomic weapons as well as to direct research and development of civilian uses of atomic energy. The reports of the AEC to Congress were originally published semiannually (1st-25th reports, 1946-1958) before switching to annual publication in 1959. These reports describe the activity in the atomic energy industry for the dates covered, including civilian development in the nuclear industry and regulatory activities of the AEC. (Andriot 796)
